Haynes Village - Bedfordshire

Haynes is a lovely village just south of Bedford in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.

Hello, and welcome to Haynes village website.

My name is Paul and my wife and eldest daughter lived in Haynes between 1998 and 2003. We lived in Londgen Close, Haynes.

Haynes is a beautiful and mostly undiscovered part of Bedfordshire yet gives great access to local towns such as Bedford, Hitchin, Shefford, Ampthill and Clophill.

There are also some other very quaint villages nearby.

Here's what one commentator has said about Haynes on Wilipedia...

Haynes is a village in Bedfordshire, England, about seven miles (11km) south of Bedford. It is directly adjacent to a small hamlet by the name of Haynes Church End, for the purposes of this article they can be considered the same village.

The name 'Haynes' is derived from an old English word meaning "The enclosures". It was mentioned in the Doomsday book. The is a very small and tranquil place, with one local Pub, named "The Greyhound", which is well-known throughout Bedfordshire as a good place to eat. There is also a shop and Post Office.

Haynes has a very fine Village Hall which is used widely, as well as a Lower School.
